1960-63 had this clock, possibly into 64.

Thanks guys! I was needing a pic so I would know what exactly they looked like, as I'm on the look out for one if anyone will sell one reasonable enough.

also did the gmc's have these two clock styles as well?..I'm defianetely going to search for one of either of these styles.

I think one from a late 70's Camaro would look about the same.

Got my factory clock installed this weekend. Fairly straight forward process. The instructions show 2- 1/8" holes, which is incorrect. The screws are 10 x24thread and require a 3/16" hole. The hole for the wires is 5/16".

Some pics of the install. Its still in the fawn color as Im changing interior color in the spring. Will take some getting used to as it sits in the middle of the dash.

looks good, if u ever run across another clock like that let me know.

Re: 60-66 factory clock pics?
Will do. I use to see them alot 20 years ago....they are getting harder to find. Corvairs are another source to look at.

Re: 60-66 factory clock pics?
Yep, i seen one in a '61 burb about 10 yrs ago, wish i would've got it.

Re: 60-66 factory clock pics?
Yeah, I passed on a few mostly in corvairs when I was younger. Didn't have any want for one. Now getting older and they are getting harder to find. Ive tried to find most of the factory options that I like. The compass being the one interior part that I probably wont install. The dinsmore compass's go for like $400-$800 and I really dont care for how they look/mount.

Re: 60-66 factory clock pics?
Same here, I'm not sure what the compass looks like? Do you have a link to a pic? As for the Clock, I'd take the fawn one or a black one..I wouldn't care as long as the price wasn't crazy.

They mount using the top screw on the rear view mirror bracket as seen here in aerotrucks 63. I imagine that running the wire acroos the cab brow is probably no fun at all.

There are also several variations of the compass, this is the one that comes up in the factory accessory brochure

Here's what I'm doing--it's factory, but it's not.
After keeping an eye open for a couple years, I finally found a clock at the NE Georgia Swap Meet that'll work: It's a factory clock for something, but I don't know what. I'm going to cut a hole in the factory Heater Delete dash plate, weld a couple studs to the back side and flush-mount the clock in the Delete plate. My truck is a '61. I'm going to have heater control cables made that are a little longer than factory, and move the Deluxe heater control head over to where the ash tray is, then mount my clock in the dash where the heater control head was. It'll look factory, but won't be. -Brad |
