Something similar but longer than a blazer?

Was there a vehicle that was a convertible like the blazer but with a longer wheelbase so could tow 4000 lb trailers a little safer?

Not really a Chevy Blazer (or GM in that case) ..

Here is a Ford Centurian

They were a custom made machine and they are out there still. The ones in good shape go for a pretty good premium as most of them rusted away.

My older siblings dad had towed a 20' race car trailer with both his 94 yukon gt 2 door, and his 99 tahoe 2 door!

One of the things you can do a short wheelbase vehicle to be more stable while towing is use either a Hensley or Pull-Rite hitch.
