Who has a roll pan or used 3m weld epoxy?
 

I'm just fitting my rear bumper and don't like it at all. I asked about moving it up a couple weeks ago but that won't work because then the tailgate will hit the license plate.

Mar-K sells a roll pan that I like but it says it requires welding. My bed is already painted so has anyone here used that 3M weld epoxy? Any reason I couldn't drill holes on the inside on each side and mount it with 4 bolts? Here is their description:

I didn't weld the Mar-K pan on my 73 stepside. I used sheet metal screws along the top edge and a couple on each side to the fender flange. None of the screws are visible unless the tail gate is down.

Just curious, did it say it should be welded? How did it fit?

five screws along the top edge, two on each side underneath to the bed flange, could put one into the bottom of each fender as well. Came from Chevy duty about 20 years ago.

Exactly the same thing as oddcouple but used 10 x 24 nutserts and screws. Put a layer of seam sealer on the edges before I screwed it together.

Alright, seems like a lot of you have done this without welding it in. I'm looking at Part #102118. I think I'll place an order today for it.

BTW, I don't see any other vendors that sell these for the Fleetside.

Mines also welded. For the fleetsides its really the only option due to how it mounts. it will actually be a little wider than the hole it goes in. I think they do this so it can be welded. you could weld side mounting plates on the roll pan and use some bolts with shims to mount it. Your going to have to paint the roll pan anyhow and the factory seam at the bed end cap is a perfect place to hide the tape lines. In the long run I think you would be happier with it welded and filled smooth. Here is mine
