Nice Rear!

Question:

My 71 with rear coils was originally lowered by putting blocks between the axle and the control arms. Longer U-bolts were used. Since I am in the process of a complete frame off restoration should I stick with this set up? What are the advantages to buying the shortened springs and shock relocation kit? Obviously it will "look" better and this is the way I am leaning, but I wanted to know if there was anything bad about the way it currently is.

thanks!

nothing really bad about it or anything cept maybe the arms ends may be pretty close to the pavement, i dont like lowering springs because the wire they are made from is alot smaller diameter and then you cant haul weight aymore like you used ot be able to

good luck

I got my rear springs from early classic's and they are the same diameter as mt stock spring only shorter and if your not going over 4 in. you will not have to buy the shock relocator kit, that is only needed with a 5in drop or more.Hopes this helps.

Same here on the spring size. Mine also came from Early Classic and have the same size material. only less "windings".
