73+ drop spindles on 71-72
 

I read a thread asking a similar question a while back and now i cant find it. I currently have the 71-72 crossmember/arms/tierods/ball joints etc..

theres some 73+ 3" drop spindles on craigslist...is it true that i can use the 73 drop spindles on the 71-72 components if i just switch the outer tie rod to the 73' type and change to 73' lower and upper ball joints.

i also heard that runnin 3" drop spindles with 15" wheels might require shaving of the lca for full steering ablility.

can anyone confirm this for me? thanks

Lower ball joint is the same as the 71-72.
Change the upper ball joint and the outer tie rod.

Yes,... minor trimming of the lower control arms is necessary with 15" wheels with more than 3.5" of backspacing.
