Has no one installed these? I'm surprised not one has ever done this yet. I guess I'll be the first.;):smoke:

Here they are mounted and flasher's on. Was leaving for work so I'll do a parking light and flasher tomorrow.

Just the emergency flashers on.

Re: 1971 LED Turn signal's

Well I ran into a problem. The turn signal will not work if the park lights are on.The turn signal lights lite up in the truck when I pull the head lights switch on to park position are head lights. If I just use the turn signal they are fine.
They work fine with the old bulbs.

That should fix the issue. A total LED system requires a quicker flasher module to operate the LEDS. I learned this on my Wrangler when I changed all of mine out. With one incadesent still on the system it works, as soon as you put total LED, No good for just turns.

I bet anything that takes care of it.

Re: 1971 LED Turn signal's

Well I have signal's and running lights now with the 2 flashers installed but I still have the turn signal lights in the dash coming on (DIM) with the head light switch in the park or head light position. They do function though just not the exact way I wanted them to.

I think it's a ground issue I will have to find.

With the lights on the front signal's are dim along with the front side markers.
and the dash turn signals are dim.

With the lights off everything works great.

With the old bulbs everything works normally no matter what.

Re: 1971 LED Turn signal's

Any suggestion on what to look for on this?
Is it a ground issue you think are is it something to do with the LED'S?

The lights work fine if I put the regular bulbs back in the front.

I have LED's front and back.
I still have regular bulbs in the side marker ones.

Re: 1971 LED Turn signal's

Been trying to wrap my head around this. How are those front LED lights set up? Can you get a good close pic of the circuit board?

Andy4639 06-10-2012 02:59 PM

Re: 1971 LED Turn signal's

They plug in just like the old bulbs. They have 3 wires running to back of lights. Turn signal, parking and ground. Just like the brake lights out back.
They are marked.
I can get some pictures tomorrow of them.

No resistors?

Andy4639 06-10-2012 06:39 PM

Re: 1971 LED Turn signal's

Not in the wires any way. May have them built into the light housing maybe but nothing you can see.;):chevy:

Re: 1971 LED Turn signal's

The lights in the dash coming on was I forgot to hook the small ground wire back up are either it came undone. All lights work like they should now.:chevy:

Re: 1971 LED Turn signal's

I have got the exact same problem with my 71 3/4 manual. Led tails, led parks and stock side markers. So you installed 2 flashers with ground wires and that solved the issue? What specific flashers did you use?
