Sigshooter's 1964 BBW Custom Cab
I bought this truck back around 1989 when I was about 18 years old, by this time I had already obtained my grandpa's 1965 ( Sigshooter's 1965 build thread ) so this was my second truck along with my 1977 Camaro that I had already built as a kid ...... I started rebuilding it at the shop my family owned, I had rebuilt the entire drivetrain ( sandblasting and painting the frame, all new suspension and brakes, built up a sick 327 engine and Turbo 350 tranny, and had started the paint and body when I left that job and was forced to sell it. I sold it to a good friend of mine knowing he would finish it pretty quickly..... It sat in his barn for about 15 years during which time he offered to sell it back to me a couple times. I still hadn't finished my Grandpa's truck due to marriage and kids ( lack of funds and no shop to work in ) so I never took him up on his offers.
Finally one day in 2011 I just decided to get busy and finish my Grandpa's truck and then decided to buy back the 64 also. I called up my buddy and asked if his offer was still good and bought the 64 along with all the new parts I had back. I moved it to the shop I was currently working at where it sat for the next year inside the warehouse. In May 2012 I brought it home where I can re-assemble it using the best of parts I have gathered over the last 20+ years ( So I won't loose parts since they are scattered about and I am doing 2 trucks at once with no real space to do even one ) then after Grandpa's truck is finished I will start in on properly restoring the 64. |
