Need help with K20 4WD leafspring brace broken.

68 K20 4WD. This is the driver side front leaf spring brace inboard side. It looks like someone welded it around the edges years ago. First, is this brace reproduced and if not what are the chances of finding one? The other option is to clean it up and weld the crack. Suggestions?

It's difficult to see this real well, but I'd weld it up, and go on. Any better pics?
