inline 250, turbo, 20 mph roll.
No downpipe, sounds just like a big rig. |
Re: Lets hear some different exhaust setups on your 1960 - 1966 Chevrolet & GMC Picku
On my '66 Burb, due to some space constaints, I am running Patriot short headers with 3"to 2 1/4" collectors into 2 1/4" downpipes. Then at about the trans crossmember, joining the two together into a single 3" along the inside of passenger frame rail, Pypes muffler and singe 2 1/2 tailpipe, close to original location.

Haven't got the truck home yet after the motor swap but most likely will run Flowmaster 50's with as big a pipe as I can get away with and dump them in front of the rear wheels.

How to Choose a Muffler http://www.summitracing.com/expertad...ose-a-Muffler/ Exhaust Sound - The smaller the Muffler HOUSING (Height & Width) the greater the exhaust sound. The larger HOUSINGS emit quieter exhaust notes. After rebuilt the block, crank, valves, seals I did the edelbrock cam, intake, carb setup with a gear drive. Put some flow tech hedders on 3inch collector to flow masters 40 series.. Still get a little backfire from time-time. Don't get it..

Re: Lets hear some different exhaust setups on your 1960 - 1966 Chevrolet & GMC Picku
Here are a few videos of mine. It has 2.25” pipes with a crossover, ending in Flowtech Terminator mufflers with turn downs mounted vertically under the bed. Doug’s Headers cutouts are also installed behind the front tires. There’s also a Pete Jackson noisy gear drive in the mix:
Here it is idling before the cutouts were installed: In this one the cutouts are closed until about 45 seconds. After that I kept changing the setting from partial to fully open, and back to closed. Unfortunately I had the microphone/camera too far away: And here it is accelerating with the cutouts half open: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7z4cO...ature=youtu.be It sounds better fully open in real life, but that much output overwhelms the microphone in my cheap import camera and makes it sound like the ignition is breaking down: |
