Cheap Rear Disc Conversion '73
I really want to convert my rear drums to discs and thought about pulling a newer model Chevy rear axle with disc brakes already set up. Any body know if this will work, and if so what to get it from?

What axle does it have now?

Not sure. I am new at restoration and don't really know a whole lot. How would I be able to tell?

Awesome! Thanks for giving me a great starting place! I have looked for hours trying to find someone just selling the mounting plates by themselves, with no luck. Thanks again.

Re: Cheap Rear Disc Conversion '73
I am not 100% sure on the specifics, but maybe even check out the rear ends from a 94-96 Impala SS. They will have the rear disc setup, and be 5x5 bolt pattern.
Maybe someone else has already looked into this and has more info. Posted via Mobile Device |

I believe the Cadillac Sevilles form 76-80 will work also. They have rear disc with 5 on 5 bolt pattern.

I got my disc brake brackets for my Dana 70HD from www.diy4x.com. Not sure if he has half ton brackets or not, but it might be worth checking out. |
