14 bolt axle hose & fittings ?
I need some advice on the 14 bolt rear we've built (with disc brakes) for our project truck. We're now laying out all custom 3/16" brake lines. Having discs on the rear now we'll need a short flexible line to the caliper. Each side will transition to a hard line and meet at a T on the axle, from there another flex line will transistion from the axle to the frame. As seen in the far left of the first picture.
My request is to please see a picture of the fitting at the "T" junction which is sitting on that bracket on the axle. I need to see exactly what fitting is being used. It appears there's a threaded hole for mounting whatever goes there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks. http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSCN0939.jpg http://i1216.photobucket.com/albums/...n/DSCN0941.jpg |
Re: 14 bolt axle hose & fittings ?
The factory hard line runs under that tab. There is a bracket that is held on by your diff cover bolt, that the factory T fitting bolts to.
When I did mine I ran the rubber flex line from the caliper through the frame. I then ran a hard line from each side to the T fitting and bolted the T fitting under the cross member. |

Seems in one question you want a picture of the block and the next you want a picture of the bracket? Ill just get a picture of both

Here's my 14FF in my M1008. You can see it all pretty good. Disregard the long "arm" on the bracket. I think it is only for the military application because it pivots and moves in relation the the spring compression and appears the change the brake bias with a heavy load.

I am aiming to keep it clean and functional. Been looking on-line for all the pics I can find (mostly on 4X4 sites) of the various ways lines are routed. |

I had that long arm piece on my axle when i bought it from a regular one ton non-military although i threw it away
