Finally got my 64 home......
 

I finally put some wheels and tires on my 64 Chevy which my dad bought new and had a wrecker bring her home. Now I have a complete rebuild/modification ahead of me and was wondering where you guys would start? I will be redoing EVERYTHING eventually but I think I need to get the frame in shape and get the suspension done first. Then should I do the bodywork or drivetrain in your opinions?

I know this makes me sound like a COMPLETE novice but I have never done a complete frame off restomodification before lol.

well if you know your going to do EVERYTHING id start with the frame, than paint and than drivetrain, but me id go frame, drivetrain than bodywork, sense id rather have a truck that runs dam good and looks like crap that one that looks good and runs like crap....

if this is not to be a driver/project, just start tearing it down. You'll learn tons just from the disasembly process.
Once you hace a bare rolling frame, you can start on the suspension and work your way up. A good thing about doing this, is as you slowly find good parts, you can toss them in the garage and then by the time you are ready to put it all back together, you'll have 1/2 the stuff needed. Just dive in, and take your time.

I agree with longhornmail when I got my 66 I thought well I will get the engine and drive train in shape then go from there. well one thing led to another and I kept finding more and more that needed to be done. As it sits now I have gotten the frame and drive train done. the cab and is sitting on the shop floor and the bed is sitting on blocks under a tarp. Now if that long lost rich uncle would just die and leave me all his cash I could get the rest of it done. lol
