ECM Mounting

Does anyone have a picture of how the ECM mounts in an 86 1/2 ton?

I took mine out of my old cab, (which was in pretty rough shape) and put it into a cab off an 81 1/2 ton, I don't think those had ECMs. It's been a while since I took it out, so I don't remember how it mounts. I already sent the old cab for scrap.

Thanks.

Thanks. There's supposed to be some kind of bracket, which isn't in this cab, so I'll have to rig something up.

The OE ECM bracket is made out heavy duty white looking plastic. I use epoxy to attach this bracket to the under-dash metal. So far epoxy held up just fine on several conversions, the oldest completed in '07.

CA certified emission trucks used ECM with CCC carbs since early 80's. The rest of the world (and US in general) was spared from this snake pit of vacuum hoses and wires and 'an abortion' of the emission control system. GM was forced to use CCC system in light duty trucks mandated by eco-nazi's at CARB in order to meet CA emission limits. IMHO, GM should have gone to true EFI in light duty trucks, but bean counters probably killed that idea!

I did not know that, thanks! Feel sorry for you guys. I'm sure they had all kinds of engine power robbing devices back then! :ito:
