Brand new plain tailgate
 

Bought this today off CL and I just don't like it without the letters. It is brand new and perfect except for a small dent in the center at the bottom of the outside of the gate. See second pic. Will not come with any hardware. Asking $150 and prefer local pick up.

Have you thought about the Cheyenne tailgate band with letter? Or are you going "Smooth", but this is "Too smooth? HAHA

Acutually I have been kicking the idea of the tailgate band around. It's just that my truck is a 68 so it's not era correct but I am considering it. Ttt

Maybe you'd like it better with Chevrolet airbrushed on it or lettered in a cool way...even to look 3d like it was stamped. Just a thought.

You know Tim that's not a bad idea. I didn't think of that but I did think about jus putting the Chevrolet stickers on it but was afraid it would look cheap. I don't know, I guess it will depend if anyone wants to buy it or not at this point :lol:

Pinstriping letters in an old western type style lettering would be awesome.

That's another great idea. You know if I don't sell I think it will grow on me. I just like the look of the letters, I think it's more classy, but painted letters I think will work to.

That shaded western picked lettering is what caught my eye out there in CA back in the '70s

Ok well I painted the gate white on the outside and I really like so I think I'll keep it for now. You guys talked me into it :lol: but I thank you for all the great ideas. I will let you know what I end up doing and posting some pics.
