K5 tailgate width question ??
 

Can somebody tell me the dimension of the rear quarters at the top where the cap fits on? I'm looking for the inner gap at the top where the tailgate sits. I hope that makes sense. I had to spread my rear quarters to insert the new floor and tailpan so now I need to know that distance so my tailgate fits right. If I remember correctly, I thought it was like 67" or something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My 81 measures 67 1/16 inch inside to inside at the top and bottom of the quarters. gives me about 1/8 inch clearance on the tailgate.
