Stock gauges with a LSx Swap

Been looking for a new motor and trans for my 66 c10. I have been doing alot of looking on here here about LSx swaps, and I would really like to do something like that. I can get a better deal on 6.0 with a 4L60e then I can with a 350 and 700r4 new or slighty used. I can get a 6.0 and trans with 45K with all accesories for 1850 not a bad price in my opinion unless you guy think otherwise. My question is what stock gauges will work with a LSx swap like that? OR is the new 350 a better choice without have to redo all gauges and bunch of rewiring. I really need to make a decision on the motor and trans before i start tearing things apart for the build. Thanks for your guys input.

You can use pipe X metric bushings to adapt standard sending units to work with an LSX motor in your truck and you can even get a converter for the speedo. Go with the 6.0, you won't regret it.

Who makes the converter for the speedo? I got and LSX and a 700R in mine.

I have a LS2 in my 65. As top fuel says, you won't regret it.

I have all the factory instruments working.
You need to use an older model temp sender (100 ohm in boiling water. The late model senders are 200 ohm in boiling water) You also need to keep the LS temp sender for the ECM to use.
I tapped the oil cooler blockoff for the the oil pressure gauge
I run the original truck wiring as a 60 amp circuit off the LS wiring so the amp meter works as is
You need to use a 30 ohm fuel level sender. I put 2 in my tank, the 30 ohm and a late model one for the ECM to use
Finally the converter for the speedometer is made by CableX and converts the VSS signal from the transmission to the correct 1000 turns per mile to drive the speedo cable
Details are in my build thread if you need them.

Good luck,

TR
