Two tone paint on 69-70 trucks?

In a Chevy Pickups book i have, it says that the paint scheme with a white top, and the area inbetween the side trim also white, with the rest of the truck a contrasting color, was only available on 71-72 trucks. According to the book, the only color schemes available on 67-70 trucks was solid, solid with a white top, and a white top, and area below the trim. While junkyarding the other day, i came across a 69/70 GMC pickup with original appearing paint, but 2-tone paint that appeared original. Was the book correct, or were 2-tone paint schemes offered from 69-72?

LOL...thats what i was starting to think. It also said that the Longhorn's last year was in '71. This board is way more accurate http://67-72chevytrucks.com/board/ubbhtml/smile.gif.

Yup, and it probably says the Longhorn started in '69 too huh? Even though we have not one, but 2 '68 Longhorn owners on the board. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/board/ubbhtml/biggrin.gif

That damn "Classic Trucks May 2002" issue...
Makes me now wanna build a 71/72 SWB...I love that White top, on yellow truck with white inlay/center section between molding. Damn, I don't even like moldings... But, I LOVE THAT TRUCK... a touch too big of wheels for that truck, but WOW...
