engine killing

ok when i make a sharp, quick U-turn the engine will just die and I have no clue why, other than that it runs great. Any one have any thoughts on the problem?
thanks

carb float level to low?

Southpa 05-17-2003 04:24 AM

Float in the carb. Happens to me sometimes when I come to a sudden screeching stop.

pphatbasstard 05-18-2003 02:42 AM

hmmm what is the quick fix for this?

68 Suburban 05-18-2003 08:09 AM

Adjust the float....lol. Sorry, but that is the way to fix it. It depends on what type of carb you have.

definately carb float related i had the same thing on my truck a few trucks back and we ended up playing with the float and after a while it worked just fine its not keeping enough gas int he carb so when ya turn the gas floats to the other side and ya stall

PS arent sharp quick U Turns illegal anyway?????

Buy a simple rebuild kit, and a float. Follow the directions, install, and SET the float level with the gauge included in the kit, and you will be fine. Keep all the parts in order as you disassemble it, and don't leave any out upon reassembly. It only looks difficult!
