Front bumper help please
I have a 1980 Chevy silverado. I have purchased a front bumper off a 83-86 Chevy pickup. I have seen many of these style bumpers on the 73-80 trucks. The problem I ran into is that it seems to hit both fenders where the newer bumper wraps around the sides. This won't allow me to get it close enough to attach the bumper to any brackets. Does anyone know how to make this work? Does the bumper need to be modified? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tryed that one myself. Bumper would have to be spliced and extended, frame horns cut also. I gave up that thought.

Re: Front bumper help please
That sucks. I guess I should have payed better attention to it when I bought it. It had a 82 bumper on it but no blinkers in the bumper so it had a pair of open holes on it. So I switched it to the older style bumper. Thanks for the info.

Re: Front bumper help please
Thank you esbstuff. I have seen that post and learned a lot from it. But it seems like the 83 model or so bumper that I have seems to be to narrow. Would using those bracket modifications make it fit better?
