Several Questions...

Everyone,

I am finishing up my rebuild and have found a few things that I am not sure what they are and what they do. Can you please help me out? Please tell me that they are called and if I need them and where the vacuum lines go.

Let me preface this with I have factory AC.

First I have a black ball unit in the engine compartment. It has a large rubber line coming off it - what is this black ball and what does it do and where does the rubber hose hook up?

Second, I have a pancake looking valve under the dash over on the passenger side that has a rubber hose coming out it - what is called, what does it do, do I need it for AC and where does the rubber hose hook up to?

Third, there is some kind of switch/resistor/relay on the side of the AC duct work under the dash on the passenger side? What is it and where does it hook to?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Please see pic below.

Thanks,

KellerMac

Re: Several Questions...

the first pic is the vacuum tank that serves the vacuum portion on the back of the controller in the dash. the second is the vacuum actuator for the pass. side cowl vent and the third is a relay. hope this helps some.

one more thing; the relay hooks up to the a/c wiring harness.
