hey guys i know this may seem like a very small question to start a thread for but i cant figure it out.... So im about to buy my rear set up to bag my 68lwb and my truck is at a friends house. so i dont have access to look at it right now. Because im impatient i need to know what the diameter of my rear axle tubes are, 68 lwb 6 lug original rear/alxes. Thanks guys

Re: Need some help

Axle diameter on my two rears (12 bolt 1970,and 72) is 3.0". Should be the same diameter for all 67-72 12 bolt rears.

you need to slow down a bit. you may get lucky and you may pay shipping to return the axles . pull your axles and measure them. make sure you do in fact have a 30 spline rear end and that its the diff that came from factory. the truck is almost 45 years old and its not uncommon for a PO to have changed it with a reman or even a new after-market rear that may be wider than the 68.

there's never seems to be enough time to do it right the first time, but there's alway time to do it over.
