Looking at A pair

Went and looked at 2 trucks this weekend, and i made an offer on the pair of them. I want to see if my estimate was within reason.

1st is a 72 GMC Super custom. Olive/White. LWB. 350 3 speed on the column.

89k miles original. Truck is complete minus the factory wheels. Its got some dents, the cab is crusty (maine truck) needs corners and rockers, bed needs a wood floor.

Runs and drives, needs a brake line. Still has the original dual to single exhaust in the front. I think its a cool truck.

What would you guys guess value might be? I'm thinking becasue its original and it can be repaired fairly easy and make a cool driver. My estimate $12-1500.

2nd truck is a 70 Chevy custom LWB, 350 auto, WA state truck orginally.

Hasn't run in awhile, is complete minus some trim, dents, tool and storage box, 373 rearend, custom com and conv package, gold custom cloth trim.

Cab again is rusted, fenders are good, interior is actually not to bad. Good parts truck.

Estimated $6-750.

I know parts are getting harder and harder to find, this one also comes with a mint 70 hood, and all good wood bed trim.

Let me know what you guys think.
Thanks
Glen

I am not sure of parts values in your area...are you wanting to part then scrap the rest? If so, what's scrap? No point in making a couple hundred bucks for a LOT of work (parting out)

I personally wouldn't recommend paying more than 1000-1200 max for the pair....there are great deals out there everywhere if you wait and have the cash ready as soon as the deal pops up...(I actually personally wouldn't pay over 750 for that pair to be perfectly honest)

I missed a running swb locally for 500 and the one olebeater sold for 1600 with a repaired cab, ps, pb, and a bunch of extra parts, swb step bed and good 72 front clip (no engine)

If you're planning to restore one to sell or keep it and drive....or honestly even part it out

I see (all the time) nice lwb's (rust free or almost) running sell for 800-1000 out in CA, NV, CO, AZ, WA, and parts of TX...pay 1000 to ship one to you and you're still way ahead of these IMHO...

A rusty fender may get 20-40 if someone needs it to patch a wrecked one....a rust free can get 2-300ea...
A rusty door complete with guts maybe 100-150ea total (only if you part out the guts)...4-500ea total if rust free...
rust free inners 100-150ea
nice cab 600-1000
nice bed 400-600.
nice hood 100-150
nice grill 100-150
good bumpers 50-100ea

That's 2800 for the main parts not counting drivetrain or frame/wheels/tires/glass and all the other small parts and interior parts that add up....so a rust free (or close) truck is worth a minimum 2K to me if starting on a project or planning to part it...

I may buy the 70, but the 72 he isn't going to budge on. The 70 has some good parts on it, some I can use for my build.
