front end wider than rear end
Please, Tell me 1971 4x4 Front end is wider than the rear end. I just removed them from the frame and rolled them over in the corner. only to find out when i pushed them up together, that the front end is 4 inches wider than the rear. thanks.:(

The rear is narrower than the front. As I understand if the rear is narrower it allows the vehicle to make a tighter turning radius than if both axles were the same width.

Newer 4X4's are the same.

The front track is definitely wider as this pic shows.
When I tried to put my K25 on my trailer to take it to the paint shop, I had to back it on, as the front tires hit the trailer fenders but the back tires cleared. Here's a shot of when I picked it up from the paint shop. |
