69 to 72 disk conversion

I have a question that may seem elementary to some, but I have my first resto-mod project planning underway and I have a question. To convert from drum to disk in the front I realize you must change ball joints and spindles. I also know that i need a brake booster and proportioning valve since I am changing to power brakes as well. Heres my question- besides the obvious is there anything else that needs to be converted, such as: brake pedal, rubber brake hoses, or anything else im missing? Thanks in advance.

NO NEED
TO CHANGE BALL JOINTS OR TIE RODS ANYMORE!

Re: 69 to 72 disk conversion

I have read that info. I am pulling these parts off of a 72 to save money. I don't have the luxury of buying "conversion" parts. My main concern is the brake booster. I would be putting the booster on a truck not originally equipped with one. Is the brake pedal different where it goes through the firewall?

From your original post, I had no idea you had a donor truck.
If you still have the 72 parts truck,... use the a-arms and ALL of the steering linkage.
Donor trucks are a great way to do the swaps on the cheap,... but make sure you inspect all the components closely.
Replace anything that is bad.
I had $600 in my last total front end rebuild.
So if your original front end is still good,... a $219 set of conversion spindles is way cheaper than replace all the other compnents.
Plus you can still use the rest of the brake parts from the donor truck.

The brake pedal should be the same on both trucks.
I would use as many parts from the donor truck as you can,... including all the steel brake lines.
