couple of questions
I was wondering who sells a good high performance th 350? What is a good price for one? Its going to have about 425-475 hp. Also wondering if a transbrake is worth it? i would like to put a reverse valve body in it. I am sure i will have more questions but that's it for now.

Re: couple of questions
I've got a guy here running low 10's in a 3200 pound Nova runnign Hughes Street-Streep TH350 and a jeggs house brand 3800 stall converter. (The trans was ordered fron Summit because it was apparently cheaper to go from Phx, to Ohio, and back to 35 miles SE of Phx,,,,, than to buy direct from Hughes <shuush I didn't say that>) He's pulling low 1.4 sixtys on a 9" tire, but foot braking which is a heck of a lot easier on running gear.
That said, Hughes is built RIGHT. I ran one of their race preped TH350's with a sportsman brake in the 66 truck for about 8 years varying in the 12's to mid 11's with a 200HP shot. , I run one of their TH400's with protree brake in there now with the 10 second combination, and run one of the Hughes Pro Glides in my Nova at 9.13/ 148, with a Hughes converter. So I don't say Hughes just because I've had good luck with 'one' of their trans,, but with every one I've had. |
Re: couple of questions
I had a buddy that broke several on the footbrake till he bought a TCI it held up well. It was a little over 400 to the rear wheel N/A with 275 60 15 drag radial in a full bodied 67 camaro street car. We sprayed it pretty hard and had low 1.40 60 fts.

Re: couple of questions
You don't want a th350 transbrake on the street, it won't last.

Re: couple of questions
I have a cheap POS Redneck th350 with a brake and a 4200 converter. I only street drive it, third year no issues. But I do have a good cooler w/fan. It runs about 190 all the time. Again my 2cents...

Re: couple of questions
I was told by aeveral builders not to run a 3 speed with a brake in the street. Something about the brake eliminates the second gear band or something like that.
Speak to the builder of your choice and see what they suggest. Posted via Mobile Device |
