What I did in a week spending no more then $150
Well my trucks old flat black was looking a little bad. (Due to body panels being changed, Bed shortening and various other things)The trucks 327 had a horrible oil pan/timing cover leak. Enough to drain the engine of its oil after 100 miles. I was going for just a daily driver good look. Not perfect. Since I was on a time constraint I think I did pretty good for just 5-7 days.
You can see what I mean in this picture. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg576...pg&res=landing Started sanding and some body work http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg803...pg&res=landing Took the bed off( Painting it inside the garage was a mistake. Wasnt hot enough to paint so I have a lot of sanding to do.) http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg94/...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg594...pg&res=landing Started the first coat on the cab/door http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg269...pg&res=landing Removed the front clip. Look how nasty it was under the hood. Was seriously embarrassed to show anyone. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg52/...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg688...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg62/...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg838...pg&res=landing Got the bed going. Looked good at first. But the 3rd or so coat didnt dry right and runned everywhere. I plan on doing it in the sun next time like the cab etc. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg9/s...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg442...pg&res=landing 4th coat on the cab http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg18/...pg&res=landing Started the front clip http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg844...pg&res=landing Started on the motor. Had to jack the engine out of the frame to slip the one piece oil pan gasket in.Cleaned it up a little to make it easier to work with. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg812...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg594...pg&res=landing Got it back together and begun to get it ready for paint http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg836...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg715...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg6/s...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg716...pg&res=landing Got the front back together.(still neded some coats but was running low on time) http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg194...pg&res=landing http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg99/...pg&res=landing Plasti Dipped the ugly chrome bumper( Sanded it with some 36 grit then sprayed) http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg703...pg&res=landing Still have to finish the hood. It needs a lot of work. So been driving hoodless but it's a million times better then what it was. http://desmond.imageshack.us/Himg189...pg&res=landing $150 and a week of free time off work can do a lot. Oh and by the way. I used a roller to apply the satin black. Pretty damn good huh |

A little video of when I went to back the truck up to put the bed back on. Didnt realize a cop was on the corner. Didn't seem to care though :metal: Other then pretty much tweaking my back pretty good it went smooth.

Re: What I did in a week spending no more then $150
Well I deamed my other 68 hood a complete loss. Making it into a table. But on the bright side I picked (Well had delivered) this cherry 68 hood for $85. Going to start working on it tonight. Stoked
