remote inlet filter location

Im mounting my compressor on the frame rail near the cab, and was planning on drilling a hole in the cab and running the line (~2 feet) into the cab and having the filter inside. would it be better to run less line and keep it on the frame rail, or more line and pull air from the cab??

Is there a reason you're mounting it remotely?

I don't think the filter cares how much line is used for a remote mount. I'd just mount it directly to the comp though...it's probably easier to access down there than somewhere hidden in the cab.

I'm thinking it depends on what you do with your truck. I bet it's noisier with the filter in the cab, but if your in a lot of water, I'd put it inside. Mine will be.
