Re: efi fuel tank

I took a (new) car tank that I was using for my 48 Chevy and had a fuel pump retrofitted inside. It was a ragular tank not a custom stainless one or anything. It works fine.

This is the company that did the work.http://www.rockvalleyantiqueautoparts.com/ndex.htm I had to send them my tank

Good luck
Marc

do not buy one from no limit engineering, they are in the vendor marketplace on this forum.
but i can tell you from experience that their efi tanks are junk and they offer no customer support.
let me correct that. the tank is fine, the pump and gauge features suck.

i've had repeat failures in the rubber line that goes from the in tank pump to the tank fitting.
i suspect that it is cause by the ethenol added to gas today.
i have written them many times and get no replies as to a possible fix.
my last correspondence was a pm to their sales team thru this forum, no response received.

the 30 ohm gas gauge is a universal unit with a foot long wire and float
baffles in the tank prevent the unit from working no matter how you bend the wire.
i guess i was expecting everything to work on/with my new $500 tank

had to buy a jack and stands on my return from this years power tour
pull the tank and shorten the line to get home

yes this turned into my rant, sorry for this, but maybe it will get a response from no limit :D

As the saying goes, "I'm here to help". Here's the most important thing. Our shop telephone number is 909-386-7637 Talking to an actual human is the best way to get things done. From the picture, I estimate this tank to be 5+ yrs old. Thats OK, we stand behind our products. As Ogre stated, "the tank is fine". Yes, ethonal addatives in the fuel have changed the game. We now use, and have since 2008, the factory Gm polypropolyne feed hose. Here are some of the difficulties we have here.
1) I have no data in any of our computers for "Ogre" so I can't look up the order.
2) There are no 'PM's anywhere I can find them on this subject to help solve it.
3) I would be glad to send out the updated hose, even though I didn't change the fuel mix, (call the ethonal guys) but I need someone to call and give us the info of where to send it. It sounds like this has happened a few times, so I guess it's no surprise that it happened again. CALL and we can help you.
4) Most fuel sending units are 'universal', and have to be fitted to the tank. Sorry, but if you order a tank, and add a sender to the order, we don't install it for you. You have to read the instructions and fit the sender. Common float arm length for our tanks is 4.8" to 5.3", so you must cut the float arm to fit. Also, the stock guage of a 55-59 chevy is 0-90 ohm, I hope the 0-30 is the correct match for your guage.
Ogre, if you would like to solve this, I suggest you call us 909-386-7636 this is the first step of getting things done. After 5+ years I will still be glad to take care of this for you.
Trashing, or threatening to trash, a supporter, and yes, advertiser, of this forum is not going to help anything in the long run. I suggest again, that if anyone has a problem with any manufactures product, don't write, don't PM, don't post. Pick up the phone, dail the number and talk to a human. Were here to help.
