Anyone bought an engine on ebay?
 

Just wondering if anyone bought the ls motor on ebay or if anyone would advise against it or not. I've seen a couple good ones on there but personally I rather get one from a salvage yard where i can see it and maybe hear it run before I buy it.

I bought my 5.3 from Morris Rose auto in Kalamazoo Michigan through E-Bay. They were great to deal with. When I picked up the engine the place was very clean and organized. When I got back home I figured out I forgot to get a couple of parts and they worked with me on getting me to me.

bought mine off ebay.....but was for a brand new complete LY6 6.0L crate motor...and thru a local GM dealership chain so I was able to pick it up at auction end.

Buying a used motor over the net leaves you totally at the sellers mercy. Other then pics their word is all you have to go buy...so pick your seller well.

I bought mine from "JustChevy Trucks" They post the engines running on U-tube before they are removed. Stu was very helpful and answered all my questions. I haven't install the 6.0 yet but everything looks good.

Bought 4 in last 4 years......all were fine but....last 6.0 was damaged....Plastic intake broke.....Little lesson on shipping...If the person ordering the shipping gets insurance but does not look close the shipper will only pay a MAX of less than 50 cents a pound PERIOD....no matter what its worth!!...So do your homework.....I learned the hard way.......jim

I bought my LS2 on Ebay from Schram auto parts out of a 2005 SSR in Sept. 2007. Very good pull out with all wiring, accessories, etc. Runs great. Pretty good company to work with.

thanks for the input guys. sounds like most of u had good experiences. but i dunno yet. im actually looking for one with a tranny. theres hardly any engine/tranny combos on ebay.

i checked out just chevy trucks on ebay. i gotta i like those guys. maybe ill get my motor from them. plus they offer packages for projects with stand alone harness and all. thats pretty awesome. not to mention seeing and hearing the motor run on youtube.

I've bought to from schram auto off of ebay and have had good luck!
