1948 3/4 ton vs 1948 1 ton and bigger fenders?

are the fenders on a 1948 1 ton or bigger truck wider then the 3/4 and 1/2 ton trucks? if so do they bolt right in place of the 3/4 ton fenders?
i want to swap to a ifs from a 87 3/4 ton and ive seen it done but the tires stuck out. and i read somewhere that said the bigger ton truck had wider front fenders. does anyone know if thats true and if so if they bolt in place.

The front end on my 51 is from a GMC dump truck. The fenders are bigger than a regular truck. Not sure of the measurements but they are wider. I can post some pics if your interested just let me know.

Look at Beeeps Envoy thread, he used big truck fenders because of the same issue you are having.

The one ton fenders are the same the one and a half ton have larger wheel wells but the fenders are the same.

The (big) truck nose is completely different. That would be equal to a five ton.

Top photo is a 1-1/2 ton fender, bottom photo is a half ton fender

The 1 1/2 ton also sits up higher then the 1/2 ton requiring a different hood( if you look at the rear corner on the hood the 1/2 and 3/4 tons are round where the 1 1/2 ton is more pointed. I believe. In the envoy build he says they are 3 inches longer then the 1/2 tons.

Awesome thanks. So if I want wider fenders then I need to go with the big truck whole front end including the hood and fenders and grille? Will it bolt up to the cab and frame without any issues?

Here's a link to a cool build thread from the 4x4 section. The truck has 1.5 ton fenders And hood on it. Looks really sharp.

Don't know if this will help or not. I took a measurement from the edge of my hood to the outer edge of the fender. It's about 23 3/4 inches. Again mine if a 51 gmc dump truck front end.
