Is there anything i can get at a local parts store.

I once helped a friend move and her bicycle handle bar scratched my rear glass.

A glass shop told me tooth paste would help the scratch. I polished the glass with the tooth paste and the scratch was able to be removed.

I had looked into this a while back. I heard that the scratch(es) can only be removed if you run your finger nail over it and can't feel a depression. The compound you need to buff them out, or I should say the stuff thats in the eastwood kit, is cerium oxide. There's a 50/50 chance that a local automotive glass shop will have some. Might want to get out your phone book and make some calls. Good luck.

I saw some glass polish (don't know if it is the same thing) at the local Novus glass repair shop. It was a complete kit for about $10

Cerium Oxide. You can get some of it at a gem / rock shop.. It's used for one of the last step in polishing rocks. sprinkle some on a damp cloth rub the glass..
