Brake pedal question

Starting our camaro clip swap into our '55.
Wondering if I need to keep the piece that the brake pedal hangs from in the camaro to put into the '55??
Got everything else out of the camaro that I need (I THINK)
Took the whole front end,the rear end, the brake booster and pedal, leaf springs (think they need to be used too)
Any help/advise would be great
Thanks

Re: Brake pedal question

I'd grab it, you got the proportioning valve too? Also any small parts like brake cable holders, etc. of the back frame. If you are using the camaro rearend get the ebrake cables and parts. If you don't use them, good trading or swap meet stuff. When I go to the wrecking yard I am always on the look out for little clips, clamps, and small parts that might come in handy. Usually get charged a buck for a handful if I buy other stuff.

I would keep it you may be able to use it to hang the pedal and to tie the firewall and dash together. I would also put a 10 or 12 guage plate on the firewall to help distribute the force.

Yep, I'd use everything and as Mknittle said reinforce the firewall on the inside with a piece of plate to spread the pressure out to a wider area.

Re: Brake pedal question

I ended up keeping the assembly and the booster assembly that mounts the brake booster to the firewall. Looks like Ill have to alter it to work in the truck but probably better than trying to fab something.
