and even kn sells them with chrome :(

Spectre brand or not, the same things are all over ebay. When I bought an intake for mine, every kit I found (that was filter and tube) had chrome studs, or a chrome hat, or chrome collar etc. I really don't get why they can't just come in black, even on cheap stuff.

Thanks for the responses. I like the simplicity of this set up, but would like a quality part. Can anyone post a pick and info of something simple like this?

Wouldn't it be better to plumb a longer filter combo to left or right to get cooler air?

You are probably right. But, how ever I do it the MAF sensor is going to have to be just off the throttle body because of the PSI wiring harness layout so I figured this way was easiest.

This is for your LS swap? This filter is short & a 3 3/4" flange...A good fit for the big 5-pin MAF sensor. http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...x?Prod=RU-4250.

The AD truck in the pic doesnt have many options for a "Cold air" style intake.

In my opinion the Throttle body, MAF sensor, & Air filter need to be spaced out from each other....But not always possible.

If you go to K&N website, they list filters by dimensions... I did this, found a part number and went to eBay...
