sp. magnet near metal ?

does the magnet have any effect to the speaker if close to or on metal.I was looking to do some kick panels but was going to just stick them on the metal to do some adjusting,measurements etc.

I've never noticed a problem...I had a set of JLs stuck to a metal cabinet for a about a year and they still worked afterwards.
