Deal on U-Bolts
I picked up 4- 2-1/2"x5/8x11-18 U-Bolts for $1.76 ea. on ebay. They were on the Uhaul surplus store page. No nuts or washers though, but for less than $15 I thought that it was not too bad. I got these for my 91 r3500 rear leafs.

Re: Deal on U-Bolts
Actually they are $1.20 ea.

Re: Deal on U-Bolts
Isn't it 3.5" instead of 2.5"? Which axle, 14 SF?
Do you have a link? thanks! |
Re: Deal on U-Bolts
2-1/2 is correct but those are way to long unless you have lift blocks under the leafs

Re: Deal on U-Bolts
11" would be perfect in my case because of lift blocks. My 10 Bolt measures about 3" in diameter and my 14 bolt measures about 3.5" in diameter. So 2.5" seems small to me.

Re: Deal on U-Bolts
My truck was actually a V3500 to start with, but I was told that the springs are the same as the R3500. These are the squared type U bolts also. Mine do not rap around the axle tubes, they have a mounting plate for the bottom and a spacer at the top. If you go to gmpartseast and look up 1991 chevy r3500 and go to the frame, spring section you can see what I mean. I measured the springs @4.5" top axle mount to bottom axle mount@ approx 4-1/4" and my spacer that sits on top of the springs @.5". To the threads is 9" in the ubolts, overall is 11.5"

Re: Deal on U-Bolts
Ahhhhh...... forgot about the square u-bolts for that era. Dang!
I took a 2500 axle from a 94' but cut off the perches to go under my older, k5 era truck. Oh well, Mill keep looking! Posted via Mobile Device |
