Vortec spark plug wire brackets question
 

Hi All,

I was just starting to lay out my spark plug wires. I have vortec heads with sanderson headers. Vortec heads have two threaded holes for brackets to hold wire separators. Anyone have this set-up? If so I would like to see a pic or two. And who makes these brackets other than the GM ones. Any info appreciated.

They are sanderson headers from early classic enterprises. I think they were either 339 or 349. They fit well and are well made. I like the .375 flange. Danny

I found some brackets that I cut off and rebent to support the wires. Danny

Those look very nice, but I'm not sure i could use them with the valve covers i have. They have countersunk bolt heads. I had to get some a little bigger to cover the roller rockers i put on. You are not to far from me. I'm just across the river in OK. We hit the lewisville area a lot, or at least when we have a little extra change-not laterly btw!! Danny

Those look like factory brackets to me (first pic). They are simply a metal tab with a 90 degree bend and a 2 or 3 wire holder clip that slides on top of it. the 4 wire holder just clips on the wires and doesnt mount to anything.
GM still sells them, check for a 75 chevy 350 wire holder (I think). I know there are other years but that one comes to mind.

Have you thought of running the wires underneath? I'm running Hooker competition headers w/ceramic coat and I didnt want to clutter things up with wires so I ran them under the headers, next to the block. Sure makes for a clean install too!

Update...Mine are R & M Specialties. Don't know if they exist anymore or not, but I got them from Sallee-Chevrolet. Similar ones can be seen on this page, just scroll down a bit to see a good pic. There are a lot of big photos so be patient.

Thanks for the great links and info. I bought some cheapos and cut them off and installed them before I got your info. Enclosed is a pic of them. I not pleased with them, so I'm gonna back up and try some of the ideas you put me on. I would like to run them under my headers, but not sure about supporting them. That sure looks better.
