Clutch pivot ball
 

Does anyone know where to find the clutch pivot ball that screws into the side of the block on a V-8? I'm putting a 350 in my truck and the old linkage doesn't look like it'll fit since it was on the 230. I've checked all the local parts houses and the one that keeps coming up doesn't screw into the block. Am I looking for the right thing?

My 327 V-8 has linkage like this: #7 looks like the part you need

BTW last time my clutch linkage fell apart i couldn;t find part #3 in that diagram, went to chevy dealer and it took 1-2 weeks and ran $30 so avoid the dealer but they might carry the part

I did the same swap 25 years ago. I recall the six using all the same hardware but it also had an extension to make up the space difference. I remember being impressed that all I had to do was get rid of an intermediate piece. I was certain it was the same ball too. I was only 18 and didn't know anything about out and it worked out with no problems. I am curious to know if for some reason your situation is different.

it is a different ball stud. the one on the i6 is pressed into the bracket and the v8 one is threaded

Yes, and if you go to Kragen or Auto Zone their computer shows one similar to the I-6 stud but it screws into the bracket from the backside and has either a torx or allen head on it...totally will not work to screw into the block.

Thanks guys. I guess I'll try making one until the one from LMC comes in.

$9.95 for the ball and $7.95 to ship it....don't you hate that when that happens.
