front coils

my plan is to install a big block in my truck. i have a set of coil springs off a 1987 chevy c 10 that came with a small block. my question is will these work without dropping too much or should i buy a new set for a big block.i want stock ones as i already have 3 inch drop spindles. any info would be very helpful.

Big block is only 150-170 pounds more, should not make a big difference.

On my Suburban, the big block dropped the front about 1-1.5" with the original springs. I built my own motor mount brackets that position the engine 2" forward of the original rear location.

thanks guys for your input. i think i will buy new stock big block coils for 73-87 chevy truck as i already have 3" drop spindles. dont want to go too low as i put 70 chevelle rear springs and 2" block in the rear. dont know how much it is going to drop in the rear if any. i am hoping for a 3-4 inch drop.
