1965 gto
I recently sold my Suburban and my Toy Hauler leaving a space in the garage (from the Burb's absence). Picked up a 1965 GTO that is rock solid and mostly unadulterated. One repaint in 1985 in original Fontaine blue. 389, 4 spd, PS, PB, 323 posi, am/fm . Runs and drives very nice. Will be restoring to show quality over the next couple of years but want to play with it a little before I start to take it apart. PHS documentation. Here are a couple of pics:

Re: 1965 gto
The 1965 is my favorite year of GTO. I owned one when I was in the USAF back in the '80s, along with a Fontaine Blue '65 LeMans with a 326/PG.
My '65 GTO was a sister car of yours, option-wise, except mine was Code L (Teal Turquoise). |
Re: 1965 gto
That's going to be a fun project. Is there a Goat forum that's as good as this one for getting parts and how-to's?

Re: 1965 gto
Pontiac Performance has one but it is nothing approaching what we have here. I took my Blazer to two large shows this weekend. The Saturday show had 1027 registered cars & trucks. There was one 65 GTO and the engine bay was no longer stock. The show today had 600 cars and again one 65 GTO which was not restored to original. I would like to take some photos of a stock engine bay for my restoration reference. Also, it appears that there is no assembly manual available but there are a service manual and a Fisher Body manual available, both of which I ordered today from Inline Tube. We are spoiled with this forum and all the expertise and parts that are readily available. I use it each and every day.

A lot of the POCI chapters and PHS folks stay in contact through that forum. My username is the same over there if you have any questions. |
