Beer can between air cleaner and carb?
Trying to figure it out. It's ehe size of a beer can and is between the carb and air cleaner. I have never seen this, what is it and why is it there?

Yep, all stock and origanal, for now.

It is a spacer, I believe so the air cleaner will clear distributor or valve covers.

Yeah my bone stock 307 has one too. Kinda small beer though, just sayin.. Think I want a beer now,, must be old timer's disease kickin in.:lol:

i think they were used mostly to straighten the air out and get a better flow of air into the carb with less turbulance and better atomization of the fuel// the clearance factor was secondary

I have made several from small stain cans. Cut the bottom off and the rim on the helps keep the air cleaner centered and in place.
