Metal tag on spindle?
1 Attachment(s)
On the set of '72 3/4T disc brake spindles I installed, the passenger side spindle has a metal ID tag of some sort crimped onto it. The numbers don't appear to represent anything obvious.
Anyone know what it might mean or be for? Since it's only on the one side, I thought maybe it was a service part, but appears to be an original GM part. I can post a picture if no one has seen this before, but I imagine someone will know what it's all about... Thanks! Dave Edit: Here's a photo |
Re: Metal tag on spindle?
could b a replacement spindle and that tag is an inventory parts tag

Re: Metal tag on spindle?
I'd be surprised someone would go to the trouble of a steel embossed tag merely for inventory, but I suppose it's possible. Given it's made of steel it almost seems like its intended to survive service on the truck.

Post #10 in this thread should explain it.
