Loaded panels/all options
anyone have or seen a factory full load panel ...according to the brochures all suburban options except seating were available on panels....most were fairly basic units for commercial use...usually Chevy /GMC show a few optioned up units in the brochures to encourage the customer/dealer to upgrade...but not with the panels.
There must be a few big block/tach/tilt/air factory panels out there....would have made a good race car/dirt bike hauler even back then. |
Re: Loaded panels/all options
I have a panel and it was pretty bare bones when I got it. When its done (lol) it will have power steering, power windows, air conditioning and auto trans.
I don't go looking for panels, I have no interest in owning another. But I do see em now and again and they are always bare bones rides. But like you said, there must be a few out there that were optioned up. |
Re: Loaded panels/all options
Good thread...
I can't recall seeing a factory loaded Panel. I am guessing most were bought for work applications verses vehicles of comfort. |
Re: Loaded panels/all options
V8 auto is the most optioned I've ever seen.I've owned 4 and looked at least another 10-12 and some were higher optioned by later owners but none from the factory. In fact of all the ones I've seen only one was fact auto and 2 V8.The others were all 6 cyl.3 ott except for one K code 292 4sp.I've also only seen one with factory radio though some had aftermarket but who knows if that was an owner upgrade from fact AM or an install in a radio delete.I have never seen one without the Passenger seat option, they've all had it and as far as I can remember all were factory seats.I have seen a couple without pass visors though.I have seen 2 Factory K code ones. One was decent but the paint was very freash,it was for sale at Charlotte several years ago.The other was in a wrecking yard and had bondo at least up to the aftermarket porthole, both sides.

Re: Loaded panels/all options
great pictures .....interesting spid
note the rare manual throttle on the spid .....and it can be seen on the top rhs of dash still looking for a factory air or big block panel spid |
Re: Loaded panels/all options
whats purpose of the throttle?

Re: Loaded panels/all options
Maybe for a P.T.O. (power take off), If it had a generator or something tied into it. Clean truck, but kinda funny with a one piece bench.
I`ve owed my panel and bought 2 for parts. All were straight 6 automatics. none had power brakes and only one with P.S. One had the over load leafs in the back. |
