Getrag 5 speed with removable bell housing
Hey guys,
I drive a 68 C10 with what I believe to be a Getrag 5 speed. It even has the "G" logo near the tail shaft. All things lead me to believe this is the HM290 or 5LM60 except for one thing. The bell housing is not integrated. All I have read states it should be. Can anyone explain this to me? The # on the housing is 20844 and the output yoke is spicer 03 3 694. Thanks, Dave |
Re: Getrag 5 speed with removable bell housing
is it an aluminum trans case and can you find any other numbers if its a getrag it should have a long sequence of numbers somewhere on the case

Yup, aluminum case. There is another 5 or 6 digit # on the bell but I don't see any other.

Does this help? Best shot I could get without lifting the truck.
