84 blazer body

Does anyone know if you can put a 91' blazer body on a 84' frame? Does anyone know where i can find replacement metal for just about the entire body of an 84' blazer?

the 91 body will be a direct bolt in on the 84 frame. You probably don't want to try to piece together a rotten body because the replacement panels aren't exactly ree, and never seem to quite fit right. In addition shipping costs will be high.

Patches

Save yourself some time and money and forget the patches. If you can swap bodies and buy it at a right price go for it! I have an 81 that needs a new body, it doesn't take that long to switch them, and I will be doing a swap too! By the time you buy all the patches, weld them in, materials and time, your better off upgrading. Think about it, do you really want to drive a Blazer that has been patched together?

thanx guys....now...is the 91' body the newer style than the 84 body...i thought they still produced the same body for the blazer after 87

Gm used the "73-87" bodystyle up to 1991 on the full size Blazers, Suburbans, and crew cabs.

so that means that its could be the same body style then right?

Right. The suburbans, blazers and dooleys all were the older 73-87 style body up to 91. In 88 the trucks changed over to the newer body style. The only thing really different on the 88-91 from the earlier 73-87 body style was the front grille setup (very popular with older trucks to add on) and the trim down the side of the body. Other than that structurally they're the same.
