GMC Fleetside Tailgate (Non-Trim Band Style) - Excellent Condition +20 Pics

I'm probably going to regret this down the road but I'm putting up a low-mileage takeoff fleetside truck tailgate, came off a service truck (thus that special orange/yellow color paint.) This has to be one of if not the best used tailgate I'd ever seen in person, one of the reasons why I was keeping it.

Condition: Excellent throughout although paint has many scratches, some of which went all the way through. There was a tailgate protector panel mounted to this that rubbed paint off on the vertical ribs on the inside surface, but these are not dented or bent as close up pictures should show. There is no bowing in the gate top or bottom. There are no indentations across the top of the gate from heavy objects resting on it. Tailgate handle lies level and flush and mechanism works smooth as should be expected. There are 6 small screwholes on the inside surface which faces towards the cab when closed - these were created by the previously mentioned tailgate protector being mounted using self tapping screws. These six holes should show up in the pictures, there is a close up of one with a screw threaded partway back in to draw attention to where/how they are situated.

Price: REDUCED: $150 SOLD!!!

Lots of views, no interest... Would $150 be a better price for someone?

Man I can't believe no one near you wants this thing. If you were close I'd snatch it up.

Me either... It can be shipped via greyhound, however, I'd expect that to cost upwards of $30-50 or more, plus at least $20 worth of bubblewrap to mix in with the cardboard in an effort to help it arrive safely.

Are you in Vermont or GA? Confused by the "GA" indicator prior to clicking here.

The tailgate is in Georgia, I think I might've said it above but I can meet at exit 98 off I-20 to make things easier for pickup for interested parties.

I've still got a number of things in both places though, someday I will go up to new england and sort through what I need to keep from up there too.

Actually closer to the Atlanta side. If you drew a true north/south line from Gainesville to Macon it would be on that line, probably about 30% of the way from ATL to Augusta.

I have and its usually dependent in part upon where the depot is, they typically aren't a to-your-door option so you may know better than I where the nearest greyhound site is as far as where you are...

Here's the thing: This is a BIG piece but only moderate in weight. I don't know exactly what it is but off the top of my head I'd assume it to be about 40# by the time packaging is added? Give or take a few pounds?

UPS: Its big so UPS will jack up rates based on their "dimensional weight" formula. Their online pricing system currently quotes it at $81.27 to send, but bills it as if it were 82# just because of its size.

USPS: My local postmaster actually has been working with me lately on getting some oversized parcels in parcel post, just with an oversize upcharge attached. If, and it is *if* the final dimensions as padded and packaged on the tailgate could come in at or below 68" long (5ft 8in) 22" wide and 9" thick he will send it out parcel post for me. Assuming a weight in the 40# range, that could get it to your door for $68.57 via parcel post, again assuming a 78130 zip code from an online search based on your profile city.

Without an exact destination to go off of, assuming San Antonio as a starting point and giving a couple dollars leeway either direction if there was a different station closer to you, Greyhound could wind up in the $71-81 range because they are currently adding a 8% fuel surcharge to all freight shipments as of this past week, this due unfortunately to the high price of diesel these days. Greyhound's competitiveness comes in best for big things like doors that fall outside the dimensional limits offered by usps/ups, or if it is a longer trip like Georgia to Oregon usually.

Without having it wrapped up and packaged yet I'd assume that $70 could get it shipped down to where you are to your door instead of a station you had to spend round-trip gas driving to. As I already have done with someone else who bought door panels, if there was any way to get it done cheaper just refund the difference, or if it ran over I'd eat the additional cost.

Not sure if any of that influences your thinking at all, but if you are interested in it just let me know.

New Bump for a New Year.

Still have the tailgate, padded, packaged up, and will ship.

$150 + the ride or best reasonable offer...
