The owner bought it in 77 for a wood hauler. Last plate was 81. Been sitting for awhile. Says he rebuilt the engine less than 30k ago. Bad part is the mice moved in and it was moved around the field with a tractor. (more than once it looks like!)

You can say that again! Well,I just did,so no need. That's a great candidate for a restoration,as if you needed another. My interest is high in this one. Can't wait to see what you decide.

Re: 67 field find with pics!!!

I think to fix it right you should drop in a 350 and a automatic trans. ok now before you start a lynch mob headed towards AR to come get me I am just joking., but to some degree that would have been the norm 15-25 years ago and that is lending itself to the rarity of these trucks. That ,and they were kinda rare to begin with. realy nice find and you should be very happy together. Jim

Great truck. It has most of its original options, even the buddy buckets. The bed has been changed though, but that is not a big deal. The tailgate is the original one also.
The super custom was the high level GMC like the cst Chevy. You did good saving this one!

That V6 looks like it might be a 351.

Unsure yet. I wish it wasn't so beat up because it isn't too rusty.

According to my 67 GMC brochure, the 351 was not available in the 4x4. It was available in a 2wd.

Good save Eric.

Wishful thinking I guess since that is what I have. I stand corrected by those who know these trucks much better than me.

NICE JIMMY 4X 4 ! .

You're a lucky son ofa gun .

Take more time to clean it and get it running , lotsa grease and oil everywhere , I say restore it the best you can , it's not as beat up as you think .

If every you decide to plop in a V-ate , PLEASE sell me the 6 cylinder tachometer ! .

I need one , new or used for ,my '69 .

You never know though, it could have been swapped out for a 351- they did at least swap the bed. I have both here and I cant tell the difference on the outside but I'm not an expert on them either, just read a brochure and looked at the ones I have. One things for sure, these big 6's sure are neat to listen to and look at.

Eric, curious if you know why this truck has fixed as opposed to the flip forward buckets?

Cool truck, even though I tend to modify everything I get my hands on I think that one deserves to be put back as close to showroom condition as you can get it. We can modify the plain vanilla trucks that didn't have the special goodies from the factory.

I have no clue why some trucks had fixed and others had flip seats.

It's probably a 305, 351's were not available from the factory in 4X4's. Looks like a great truck, and the GMC V-6's low end torque is great for off-roading!

Interesting observation of V6 torque from a period magazine.
