Backspacing question
Please help. With a wheel 22x10 in the front and 22x12 rear with backspacing 4.5 how much modifications are needed to "tuck" the wheels with airbags? Just need to know how much I'm gonna have to modify. *Pics of wheels below*

Re: Backspacing question
What year is your truck? 69? The reason I'm asking is the rear end housing in the 67, 68 and some early 69 trucks was slightly more narrow than the later 69+ trucks.
With a 22x12 and 4.5" backspacing that puts around 7.5 (or more) to the outside of the wheel. Usually people will run 20x10 (or 22, whatever ..) with 5"BS on an early housing. This will change to 5.5" BS on a late housing. (69 model year forward) In short, what I'm saying is I don't think your wheels will work without narrowing the rear end, sectioning / widening the rear wheel tubs and adjustments to the bed floor to accomodate. If you're bagging it / lifting the bed floor this may not be a problem but I'm thinking on a factory length rear end your wheels are too wide. Just my .02 |
Re: Backspacing question
I think you will have to do A LOT of modifying to get the 10's w/ 4.5" backspace to work on the front. That will will stick way out, and would probably have to go with narrowed arms and a dropmember which will narrow the track width as well.

Re: Backspacing question
Any good photos of the 12" wides on back? Most I find for 8 lugs are no more than 5" backspacing unfortunately.....
