63 SWB C10 LT1/4L60E Swap
2 Attachment(s)
I came across a great deal on an LT1 4L60E combo to install in my 63 swb truck. This is a budget build.
Finished my motor mounts for my LT1 swap into a 63 c10. Raised the motor 5/8" to help clear the AC instead of spending money on brackets. Worked great with all the room under the hood. I cut the stock mounts where they mount to engine and frame and filled in the gap with flat stock steel cut to fit. Now to fit the headers and fuel lines. Waiting for my stand alone harness and ECM I got a killer deal on with VATS and smog deletes already done. |

Good job, you got it going.
Looks like a nice fit with the engine. Good luck on the build. |

Bolted up the headers from the 350. There was not much gasket difference between the D shape LT1 port and the standard 350 port. From what I've read they will work. I need to weld in the O2 bungs in the collectors next. I'll take pics as I progress.

So far we have seen pics of the engine and the engine. Do you have any of the rest of the truck? The exhaust ports are pretty much the same. Looking good so far.

Got my harness and ECM the other day. Have a few wires to remove to clean it up. Still has all the smog connections and I need to add fuel pump relay and fuse block. At least I'll know what the harness has for wires when done.

Welcome aboard!
I have the same combo in my chassis with a few upgrades. Gonna be watching close to see your obstacles, as I haven't yet got to the point of hooking anything up, or messing with it. |

I'm not sure how to attach a link to my build thread, but it shouldn't be hard to find if you look for my dumb avitar or user name but I will try to attach it now.

Re: 63 SWB C10 LT1/4L60E Swap
Been busy at work and not much time for truck. I got my new radiator this week and installed today. Waiting on a stand alone harness now. The one I had bought was and mess and gave up. Went ahead and ordered a new one from tech rods on ebay. The radiator is a champion aluminum one from ebay also. Very impressed with the quality welds. Darn phone won't upload pic. I'll log in and post pic.

Installed the new gas pedal assembly with the Lokar throttle cable along with with finishing the B&M Mega Shifter. Also installed the wiring harness. I ended up buying one from Tech Rods off Ebay and is awesome. Very well built. Just got my ECM back from LT1 PCM Tuning and be hooking it up tomorrow. Next week I'll order the Stainless Steel fuel lines from Purechoice Motorsports to go from the fuel rail to frame. I'll also order the fuel pump from Tanks Inc with the baffle already built in, The PA series. I'll post pics as I progress. I made my own fitting for the steam line off the head and tied it into the heater hose. I didn't want to tap and drill the water pump as I've seen some do. If I ever have a water pump go bad I don't want to have to modify it.

Installed the stainless steel teflon lined fuel lines from the engine to the frame. I ran steel lines to the back of the truck with a fram filter installed in feed line. I'm also going SS lines from the fram to tank, make is easier to drop tank if I need to for a fuel pump. I got the fuel lines and fittings from Pure Choice Motorsports. They are very helpful and knew exactly what I needed for the swap. Also installed the SS line for the power steering I got from pure choice.
