Electric 2 speed wiper for a 48 truck
 

Hi all,

Im down in New Zealand where it rains a lot, and my current wiper system is a mix of stuff that doesnt actually work very well.

I see that Chevs of the 40s sell a setup that works with the stock arms under the dash, but my system has been cut & shut prior to us getting the truck. So I doubt much under there is actually AD Chev anymore. It came with a one speed BMC (English) motor & we replaced that with a two speed from an XJ6 Jag,(very similar to the BMC set up) but that didnt work out so well either as the arms bound up & the motors failed. We now have some Australian Ford Falcon arms that are modified but not working much better.

Is there a setup I can buy off the shelf that I can pretty much bolt in that will do all I want to do. Ideally, I want a "long cable" type system with no arms under the dash.

Am I asking for the impossible here?

Todd, try these guys.. www.specialtypowerwindows.com they have the long cable wiper set up you're looking for..
