Square tubing size for narrowing your frame.

Hello everyone. I usually hang out in the 88-98 section. I am going to be narrowing my frame at some point to put some big meats and start taking my truck out to the drag races. I would like to know what is a common size of square tubing and thickness do most people use when narrowing the frame. Thanks in advance

2"x3" is pretty common.

2x3 .120 wall

Couple questions.
How fast are you planing on going?
How big of a tire can you get on there now?

Bigger doesn't always equal faster. More rotational weight and more drag do to a wide contact patch could slow you down.
